Trying to fix friends computer:
-Windows XP Home SP1
-IE 6.0
-SMC USB 802.11b wireless to Linksys 802.11b Cable modem
router (wireless connectivity is Excellent)
Error shows up in System tray upon start-up:
"Windows-System Error"
"A duplicate name exists on the network"
The error then disappears and I cannot get IE to work, I
get a application error, and IE never starts up. I seem
to get the same error when ever I try to use an
application that would go out over the net I get the same
application error related to IE.
Any help would be appreciated. The box is a HP/AMD, from
retail store with all software pre-installed.
