Windows Startup has unwanted folder

G

Guest

On startup I end up with a fold titled C:\Program Files\Common
I have tried "Control Panel/Folder Options/View tab, uncheck the line
"restore previous folder windows at logon". This did not work.

I have tried "run msconfig, select the diagnostic mode". This did not work.

Any other suggestions?

You might try restoring
your system to a functional
date with the "system restore"
feature.

Visit http://www.mlin.net and get a program called startup. Install and you
shall find it in the Start/Settings/Control Panel.
It contains a listing of all programs started when computer is switched on or
re-started. Look through the list and disable the ones you suspect.
Make sure you have a listing of what you have done and also the date and time of
such deed so you can go back again and enable the program later.

This is caused if one of the startup entries are not formatted correctly in the registry.

Download Startup Tracker application from this page:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_starttrack.htm

Launch the program, and click the "View log" button. Post the contents of the log file here.
