Cannot Stop Kalvmhg32.exe From Starting

P

Paul Sala

On XP, using msconfig I unchecked this item:
C:\windows\system32\kalvmhg32.exe from startup. But when I reboot it's
checked again! All the other items I unchecked remain unchecked.

Then, in msconfig on the GENERAL tab, I checked the diagnostic button, then
rebooted. When I looked at the msconfig startup, I saw all the items where
unchecked, except the kalvmhg32.exe item!

Strange thing is I do not see that process running nor do I see the
kalvmhg32.exe file in the C:\windows\system32 folder. (I have folder views
set to show hidden files).

Computer will not boot to safe mode either.

I have run the latest ad-aware, spybot and Norton AV all with their latest
updates. They all run cleanly. Some stuff wasd found but was cleaned up by
adaware.

I googled kalvmhg32.exe, but not one item was found.

Does anyone know what this could be? Is thier another way to stop it from
starting at startup?

Thanks....

Have you tried to edit the Registry for this obvious spyware.
Type REGEDIT and click OK
Click Edit and Find
Type kalvmhg32 - if it finds it, you can rightclick it and Delete.
Also, you can edit the entry out of the Startup so it won't be listed.
Edit MSConfig/startup
