I am getting a "can't find a file" box when I start my computer. It is
looking for a fine named winsrvnt32.exe. A help desk person told me to
delete that .exe file because it was part of a virus that was preventing me
from installing Norton. (winservnt32.exe)
I have used msconfig to access the start menu and unchecked that file, but
it stills shows up on start up. When I check the start menu, it is checked
again, so something must be causing that to happen.
I ran norton...and, discovered that there is an .exe file that is imbedded
in a .cab file on the C: drive. The .exe file is part of that virus and is
causing the problem. I located that particular .exe file using microsoft
explore and tried to delete it, nothing happened.
Help!
What can I do to stop that pop up box from appearing at start up? Is there
a way of using the cmd prompt to delete that .exe file that is imbedded in
that .cab file?
Thanks!
