windows server 2003

i have a windows xp home edition on my sony vaio vgn-s4m/s laptop.
iwant to install windows server 2003 as a separate operating system.
does my laptop supports this.

First thing to get (if you haven't already) is third party partitioning
software and 'split' the hard drive into two or more partitions since you
cannot install more than one operating system per partition.

Then you must find out whether Sony supplies all the relevant drivers for
the new O/S.

I disagree - You CAN have multiple operating systems on the same
partition... BUT, I agree, it's NOT RECOMMENDED.

Drivers are also a concern - and Sony, in my experience has not been
very forthcoming with drivers for operating systems that did not ship with.

I'd suggest looking into VMWare or Virtual PC (VPC, last I heard, did
not support XP Home, though it WAS possible to install it). In that
way, you can run both XP and 2003 at the same time.
