Windows Security Center is reporting uninstalled software

I had Kaspersky AV installed, but I uninstalled it in favout of NOD32. If I
remember rightly I had a bit of trouble uninstalling it, but got there in the
end with some online guides.

But Windows Security Centre keeps reporting as if KAV is still installed -
it says "multiple AV software was found" and ocassionally "KAV reports it is
out of date". I've tried lots of different registry cleaners, I've tried
manually searching the registry for KAV and cleared it out, and I've searched
the registry for Windows security centre to see if any settings in there are
obvious, to no avail.

and I've scoured the net to no avail.

Please help, it's driving me mad. It was KAV 5.0 and XP Home SP2.

Thank you.

Uninstall Nod 32 and then install Kasperksy again but the same version .
When you have it installed restart the computer.
At the end ,uninstall Kaspersky again via
Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel
This should help.

If everything is FINE (Security center does not detect 2 AVs anymore),turn
off your restore function to clear the Restore folder.
Check Turn off system restore.Click OK
Uncheck Turn off system restore ,so you'll have your Restore function ON.

Good luck and please post the results
