Windows Movie Maker 2 Capturing Problem

Tim

Hey all,

I have this problem which is really bugging me, because
my movie maker was working perfectly fine like a week ago
and now it has gone all wierd! my DV cam works fine, all
the hardware etc is functioning properly. But when i go
to capture in mm2 it has an error, i have 2 hdd's
installed one is for my video and the other is for winxp
and all my software etc.. what happens is when i go into
the capture wizard in mm2 i get throught all the steps
and the first probem occurs if i select Capture Entire
Tape, because after it rewinds the tape it says "Video
Device Not Responding" and then the wizard closes, which
i might add this always used to work i never had a
problem with this. so anyway if i go back in to the
wizard again it will work when i select Capture Parts Of
the Tape option, but this is where the second problem
occurs it will allow me to capture to the C:\ which is
the main hdd that is running winxp but the problem there
is it is only 16gig and my f:\ is 80gig and f is the
video hdd if i was to save my caputing to the f:\ the
capture proccess starts and then after about 5-6 seconds
of capture it stops but the camera continues to play, and
then the DV timecode conter underneath the camera
controls displays a message NO TAPE but really infact
there is a tape and it is still playing. And all of this
used to work just fine, i have not modifyed any of the
hardware inside of the computer nothing else far as i
know has changed so, there should be no reason for it to
be not working. One other thing, I have had the blaster
worm on my computer except that has completely been
removed now and mm2 still worked after that except i have
a slight feeling that this all has occured from the patch
i installed from microsoft, to protect my computer from
other attacks from the Blaster Worm.
For any further info to help solve this problem jus ask
and i will let you no.

Sorry the post was so long but i hope someone could help
me!

Thanks again, Tim
