Without more info, it's hard to say if there is something wrong. "WAVE"
files are SOUND files, THERE is NO picture component to a WAVE file.

That's true my mistake. What I meant was .mpg or .wmv files. Actually
irrespective of the format as long as the file contains video content the
screen is always green. To be sure I even tried other players but with same
result. By the way I'm running W2K with sp4. and this situation only happened
recently as originally I used to watch video.

My guess is either you installed some software that broke the
mediaplayer(reinstall mediaplayer) or you "updated" the video card
driver to a not quite compatible version.(reinstall a version from the
manufacturers web site for your card model).
