Media player play HDTV recording jerkily

Hi,
I installed a Hauppauge PCI TV card in my PC, which has Windows XP.
The Hauppauger recommended me to uninstall Windows Media Player 11,
then reintall it after Hauppauge's WinTV installation. But, I find the
Hauppauge TV player is not very good. The annoying thing is that Media
Player cannot play WinTV HD recording smoothly. There is green screen
flash as the HD recording playing. I uninstall Hauppauge WinTV and
reinstall Media Player. Media Player 11 does not work. I find some of
my previous TV recording can play well, but most HD recording files
cannot play smoothly.
Can you tell me how to make the Media Player work now? Thanks.

Hi,
I would like to add that the file format is .mpg. Can anyone give me
some idea to diagnose the problem? Thanks.

Have you tried GSpot ? It is a program which displays some info
about what codec is being used for playback.

Download the program here (or get it from a download site). 411,509 bytes
Unzip and run GSpot.exe .

Hi,
My computer has a windows XP OS. The computer is an HP, which comes
with an Intervideo DVD player application software. I find the
original media player 9.0 using DVD mpeg2 driver from the File/
Property menu.

One curious thing is that I cannot see Media Player 9.0 from control
panel/add/delete program. The Intervideo application software is good
to play TV recordings now after I reinstall it. My question is why
Media player shows blink green screen? If I load Intervideo first,
then Media player can play recordings well. How to repair media
player? Thanks
