Windows Media Player can't find my burner

Windows recognizes my CD burner as a burner (the properties dialog has the
Recording tab) and everything is enabled. However, WMP 10 says there is no
CD or DVD burner detected. Winamp can burn a CD just fine, just WMP has
stopped working. Any ideas? I've checked all the troubleshooting advice and
all is as it should be.

Followup:

The IMapi Cd-burning service keeps shutting itself down when WMP 10 starts.
I restart it and then run WMP and it's down again.
