Windows Media Player 9 100% PC Usage

My WMPlayer.exe used to run fine, running videos, with
codecs installed. All of a sudden, its 100% PC usage,
with the same codecs installed. I tried to play videos
using DIVX Player, but that was also at a 100% PC usage.
I ran Micro Trend Housecall, 0 viruses found, and also did
a system restore to no avail. Any help with this would
make my life great, otherwise I will have to reformat my
computer.

oh and btw, the videos dont play at all. it gets stuck
at "opening media". WMplayer opens mp3 files fine however.
