media player 9 plays video file as audio file

all of a sudden my media player 9 plays video file as
audio file only. I now it has something to do with
compression codec...but how do I resolve this problem

Download GSpot and find out what codec it uses (AVI's Only)
if it is an MPEG-2 file u will need to buy a software dvd
player. most likely it's a divx file www.divx.com
