Windows Media Player 9

I cannot play certain video files in Windows Media
Player. I have XP. It has errors downloading codecs, and
thus only audio works. I have downloaded all the codecs
from Microsoft.com and have also tried installing
drivers. NOTHING WORKS! Please help me out. How can I get
the proper thing to make video run? And is it even a
codec problem? All the videos are either divx or xvid
format, which should have been in my downloaded pack for
Media 9. Would appriciate some help.
Thanks

DivX and Xvid are both third party codec's. Nothing Microsoft makes will
include them. You need to download the from the developer of the specific
codec's.
