Windows Media Player 11 and bad_pool_header

I installed WMP11, restarted computer, opened WMP11, and selected a video
that was previously played on WMP10. The video began to play and almost
immediately I got the blue screen of death.

Bad_pool_header
Stop: 0x00000019 (0x00000020,0x85DB1A80,0x85DB1AB0,0x1A060004)

I've since rolled back to WMP10. What's causing this problem?
