Suddenly my emails will not send or forward.
I get error message: An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Fw: November
2008 Newsletter', Account: 'pop.charter.net', Server: 'smtp.charter.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 Message identified as SPAM - Please
visit http://www.charter.com/postmaster', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC69

The last time this happened I did a system restore, wiped out my updates and
it started working again. Now it started again out of the blue.

Tried system restore but I get message that it couldn't complete and my
system has not been changed. HELP!!!!!

Did you go to that URL link in the error message?
It says "550 Message identified as SPAM
The email was flagged as spam by Charter anti-spam detection system.
Charter uses several different tactics to determine if a message is spam.
The primary tactic is using an industry leading anti-spam filtering application,
corroborating feedback from the Internet community and Charter subscribers.
A message will not be accepted by our mail servers if it is flagged as spam.
If you believe the message was mistakenly flagged as spam, please click here."

This is something you will have to resolve with Charter. Windows Mail is not
at fault.

hello,
i have a similar problem with Vista SP1 and Norton 2008 with Windows mail (I
have the same with Outlook2002 on Vista too). I receive my mail but can't
send them.
The error message is the following : echec de la connexion au serveur Objet
"test", Compte :'Messagerie", Serveur: 'relay.skynet.be', Protocole : SMTP,
Port : 25, sécurisé(SSL) :NON, erreur de socquet : 10061, Numero d'erreur :
0x800CCC0E

I have contacted Skynet and everything is OK, I use it on another PC XP
without problem.
I have chatted during hours with Norton to finally completely uninstall
Norton and run their cleanup program to delete all what the uninstall left
behind. Same problem occurs without my antivirus.
I have remove my mail account and reinstall it: always the same error
I have tried with installing my old version of Outlook2002 : same problem
with error 0x80042109

HELP!

You have an entirely different problem. Please start your own thread.

When you got that error message was your Internet connection being
obtained through Sky? Laptop users often run into this problem when
changing locations.

Gary,
One PC Xp is connected with a wire and the other is connected wireless on a
speedtouch router. The 2 PC have the same skynet account definitions. I
usually use PC XP for my mail. I switch from one to the other, no problem for
receiving the messages (Outlook 2002 on XP; Windows mail on Vista) no problem
for sendind msg on XP. Now my XP begins to be old and full, I will change and
only use Vista.
I am a "stupid" user, wat do you advise me to do ?
Thanks from Belgium

Hi Daniel,
You didn't really answer my question as to who provides your Internet
connection at that location. In other words, who connects the Internet to
your Speedtouch router? Your connection provider is not necessarily
the same as your email provider.

Gary,
my provider is Belgacom Belgium, owner of Skynet. I contact them this
morning. They assure me that they have not change the settings emails of
Skynet. It's the same provider for mail and internet. As nobody (Skynet, MS,
Norton) has a solution, they advice me to use their Web Mail system, what I
have done. I can now send msg via this way and I will wait for an enhancement
or a new version of Vista before going further in this nightmare. Thank you
for your help. It has been appreciated.
A last question please. If I ask to reinstall from scratch Vista, have I a
chance to solve the problem ? I am not the only one to work with Norton,
Vista and Windows mail.

The most likely cause for your problem is your antivirus.
Norton Antivirus 2008 (and earlier) is among the top three troublemakers
for Windows Mail. Symptoms often don't surface until several months have
gone by, or until an update occurs.
First, be sure to disable its email scanning, for the reason explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

Several users here have reported that when they complained to Symantec,
they received a free upgrade to Norton Antivirus 2009.

In a worst case scenario, you may have to uninstall Norton, followed by
using their debris removal tool:
http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

Instead of uninstalling your antivirus, another option is to upgrade to
Windows Live Mail, which is more resistant to the adverse effects of overly
intrusive antivirus products: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

Gary,
I will try again all the process and if not Ok, i will put Norton in the
basket !
Thanks for your help
