Windows Mail Severe Performance Slowdown

That's one of several reasons why I got rid of Windows Live OneCare.
It has no way of suspending or 'snoozing' the antivirus protection.

Assuming a tester submitted this issue as a bug during the
beta testing phase, I bet Microsoft's bug resolution was
"as designed." Microsoft answered quite a few of my bug
reports that way. Let's hope they threw away the mold
and are using an entirely different code base for the new
beta client to be released later this month.

While the update KB931768 messed up Windows Mail, it also corrupted McAfee
SecurityCenter. Once I had uninstalled the update then uninstalled McAfee
SecurityCenter and reinstalled it, everything was back to normal.
However, I
still have the taskbar icon saying I have a new update to install, the
KB931768 update that messed everything up. Is there a way to inactivate
the
alert icon just for this particular update? Also, how do we get Microsoft
to
fix this update so it provides the necessary security without messing
everything up?

From Windows Update screen, hit View Available Updates. Right-click
offending update and select Hide Update from the context menu. Why they
couldn't have put a hint in the left-hand frame....
