Windows Mail sends mail double in IMAP mode

Hello everyone,

(wondering about my strange English? Sorry, I'm no native speaker ;-))

I use two IMAP-Accounts in Windows Mail and have the following
problem:
Everytime I send a mail, WM sends my mail, but shortly afterwards
tries to send it to the mail folder "sent", effectively sends every
mail two times (and uses my rare bandwidth).
This happens with both mailproviders and is quite annoying, since in
their online versions have no such behavior and automatically put sent
mails to the according folder.

Is there any solution, to use the sent-folder, but without double
sending of any mail?

Regards

Andreas from Germany

I'm no IMAP expert, but have you tried this:
Right-click on the Sent Items folder under that IMAP account folder.
Select "Synchronization Settings", then "Don't Synchronize".

Incidentally, your English is fine, a lot better than my German. :)

Ok, I solved the problem:

Windows Mail had its special custom folders for sent, spam, and so on
(in my German version: "gesendet" as online original and "gesendete
elemente" as the custom folder). I went to my mailprovider and deleted
those folders there after disabling "save special/custom folders on
your IMAP-server (I hope it is sth. like that in the English version)"
in Windows Mail (account properties --> IMAP).
The next step is to reset and reload your folder list (extras --> IMAP-
folders --> reset)

I think that the "save special/custom folders on your IMAP-server" is
auto-enabled, so be aware if your mail account folders have other
names than the windows folders.

(If you have any question... feel free to ask! I'll try to improve my
English ;-))

@Gary: Thanks alot! :)
