IMAP problem in Windows mail

Hello:

I am using aol as my email account (server = imap.aol.com) and have no
trouble receiving my emails in Windows Mail, but when I try to send messages,
I get a message stating: "Your IMAP server has not responded in 60 seconds.
Would you like to wait another 60 seconds for the server to respond?" I
click "yes" but just get the same message over and over and the message
doesn't get sent.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Instead of clicking Yes click Cancel. You should then see an error message.
If so, right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

ken,
Have you tried to increase the time out setting for your AOL acct? I usually set
it for the max.

Also I use IMAP and POP3 for my AOL accts, in both Outlook and Outlook Express,
predecessor to Windows Mail. I have noticed on the weekends that AOL servers
will hang on occasion, but will clear up after a few hours.
