Windows mail do not obey message rule

One of my old computers died and I have purchased a new, unfortunatly is it
with pre-installed vista, but I have to satisfy my vife.

We have a huge problem with the windows mail program, because it does not
apply to the message rules we describe.

Do not download if To or CC is ...

The message rule works on all other PC's with outlook express but not on the
new vista PC.

is this just something I have to accept? meaning install Mozilla Thunderbird?

Message rules work the same in Windows Mail as they did in OE.
Make sure each of your rules is terminated by "Stop processing
more rules."

"Message rules work the same in Windows Mail as they did in OE."

No they do not!!!
if they did I wouldn't have to ask a question in this forum!!!

"Stop processinng" is not an option in Outlook Express.

By the way, what is the name in Danish?

Thnx for the answer

I don't currently have a computer that will run Outlook Express,
but back when I did, I wrote a lot of message rules for OE,
and it most certainly has the "Stop processing more rules" action.
When I upgraded to Vista, all my OE rules imported nicely into
Windows Mail, and worked fine.

I have computers with OE and computer with Vista Mail. They both have "Stop
processing more rules". If this isn't part of the rule any later rule can
download the message.

And Van der Molen is Dutch.

It isn't obvious at first that you can scroll down in the section that
contain Stop processing more rules, but you have to scroll down
in that section to find it.

I am really sorry, but it is not working.

I did not quite understand what you meant about adding "stop processing" so
I tried th 3 variations:
1 replace "do not download" with "stop"
2 add a "stop" before "do not"
3 add "stop" after "do not"

none of the options gave the expected result

If you dont believe me when Im saying that the rule do not download is
working without any problem on my XP computers you are welcome to visit me

I think it is the wellknown problem of not having implemented other
languages 100% into the Vista

I am Danish the two options discussed is named "Hent den ikke fra serveren"
and "standsbehandling af flere regler"

I will replace the mail program with Moziilla Thunderbird, just like I have
replaced internet Explorer with firefox and installed Open Office

I have paid my microsoft tax, the pc is mine

Great minds think alike!
I had not refreshed my downloaded messages in a while, so I did not
see your prior (virtually identical) post.

1) what attachment?, where?

2) all your links do not say anything new

3) I believe that the message rule "don't download" is in a contradiction to
what is really happening, because meassage rules are not executed before
after download. Maybe this was an error in Outlook Express (which made it
work fine) that now have been "corrected" with this misserable result.

Apparently you are viewing this newsgroup through the inferior web interface.
If you want a better experience with using this asset, use the fine news reader
that is part of Windows Mail. Copy and paste the following link into your
browser's address bar:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail

OK - I have now opened the news temporarily to see your attachment nothing new.

If I only tick "stop..." I get an error

to mac: it is not "FROM" it is "TO or CC"

I don't think the problem will ever be recognised nor solved, so I stop here.

PS don't forget tuesday 17.06.08 "the great download day"

have a nice day

Obviously, "Stop processing..." can't be the only action for a given rule.
It is simply a terminator for the other actions of that rule.
