Dear All,

I have the feeling that few programs are running slow on my computer.
Especially Windows Mails who is so slow that I feel not to have enough memories.
But I have 1,5 Gigas and it used to work much faster few weeks ago.
If anybody has a clue, I will be listening.

SpybotS&D (Immunize function), SpywareBlaster, and/or other similar programs add a large number of entries to Internet Explorer's restricted sites list.

This will cause a severe performance problem in Windows Mail after installing the KB931768 critical Windows update.

The slowness comes from Windows Mail having some kind of conflict with the update and the spy program making it read through the long list of restricted sites.

Even if you uninstall these 'programs' they do not remove the "entries" from the registry ...

my 'fix' was to re-set IE7 back to its default. (see attachment)

go to IE7 Tools/advance/reset

... be advised, you will need to re-enable all your IE addons (see attachment)

Thank you muckshifter,

It works even if I am not using IE, I am on Firefox.
So I don't know why should I need to re-enable these addons.
Except for Java, and Skype. Do you know how to re-enable the addons?
Should I need to re-install these programs?

Thank you again anyway , Windows Mail is much faster now.

I'm only conveying my experience with Vista Mail slowdown ... I found I was not actually suffering the "MS update bug" problem directly, but it led me to my fix for my PC ... I wasn't the only person in my situation.

If you Google the problem in Windows Mail after installing the KB931768 critical Windows update you will see what others were experiencing.

You may not have the same problem I had, but it will not wreck your system to give it a try.

If you re-set IE, yes, you will need to re-enable all your addons as 'resetting' IE would have disabled them ... there should be no need to re-install any addons.

Are you using the programs I mentioned?
