Windows looses printers

Hi,

We have a network of 7 PC’s. In one of them a laser, an inkjet printer
is installed through USB ports. With an additional PCI USB device a
scanner is also installed on the same PC. Both printers are shared to
all other PC’s. But this PC looses printers randomly. When I look at
the Printers folder in start menu, there is no printer installed.
After shut down and power on again, everything is normal.

What can cause this problem? System is Windows 2000. Is there a
solution?

Thanks for all.

Print spooler service is stopping by the sound of it.

Next time it happens do'nt reboot try going to
Start
Run
type
CMD
click OK
<CMD prompt opens>

type

net start spooler

press enter

Recheck the printers folder

It may well be caused by bad drivers on one of the printers

Thanks for help. I’ll uninstall and then re-install all printer
drivers.
