Windows Printer Problem

Martind

Hello,

We are having trouble getting an HP OfficeJet 6210 to work on one of
our PCs. The PC is running Windows 2000, Service Pack 4. When we
install the drivers as the Administrator all appears to smoothly and
the printer shows up in the Printers applet. However, when we print
the job spools and is deleted but is never sent to the printer.
Additionally, the System Log notes and Event ID 61 that states "The
document Test Page owned by Administrator failed to print. Win32 error
code returned by the print processor: 87 (0x57).

We have uninstalled the driver and ran the cleanup utility from HP. We
have tried three separate instances of the drivers, three USB cables
and both USB Ports on the PC. The printer has been replaced by HP
twice. The really strange thing is that we can connect an HP OfficeJet
G85 using the same USB cables and both ports and it works.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave,

Thanks for the link. I checked it out and most of the items related to
network printers and print servers. My problem PC is a Windows 2000
Professional workstation and an OfficeJet 6210 connected via a USB
cable.

Thank you,
Donald A. Martin, Jr.
