Windows Logon UI has failed

"Windows Logon UI has failed and must close...(etc"
-- I get this message several times a day, many times
I've clicked to "inform Microsoft about the problem" and
I've also ignored it and just closed the message. I
cannot find any explanation anywhere about this and am
hoping someone else knows what to tell me.

Have you done anything with themes that change the logon picture?
