Windows Installer - problems

I uninstalled Acrobat 6 prof to upgrade my Adobe CS
and when I tried to install it back I only get the same message. "Windows
Installer... This patch package cannot be opened...).

Someone told me to use the Windows Installer cleanup utility. Question:
Is it safe to install the cleanup? Won't it affect other Adobe or Micrisoft
programs?

No it doesn't work like that. It gives a list of programs installed by the
windows installer and you select what to remove.
