I am attempting to upgrade my Citrix client on my Windows
XP Professional machine. When I attempt to upgrade
(leaving the original version in place), or when
attempting to remove the current version of Citrix ICA
Client, the MSIEXEC.EXE process consumes the entire CPU
indefinitely. I have waited for up to 1/2 hour before
killing off the process and attempting the operation
again. During the install/removal process, the Windows
Installer displays a dialog box with "Please wait while
Windows configures Citrix ICA Client", and "Gathering
required information..." If I go to the "Processes" list
of the "Windows Task Manager", the MSIEXEC.EXE process
consumes whatever is left of the CPU running the total
CPU consumption for the machine to 100%.
In the current state, I can neither upgrade the Citrix
ICA Client, nor remove it from my computer
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
