Sudden System shut down

Hi, I hope someone can start to help me out here
I am running Windows XP SP2 on a Dell Inspiration 9300 PC. The proplem
I have is that I experience a sudden system shut down when I am opening
"Citrix" which is a ICA client program for accessing my companies network
over the internet. The following is found in the PC's error log:

Catalog Database (1620) The version store for this instance (0) has
reached its maximum size of 16Mb. It is likely that a long-running
transaction is preventing cleanup of the version store and causing it to
build up in size. Updates will be rejected until the long-running
transaction has been completely committed or rolled back. Possible
long-running transaction: SessionId: 0x026403C0 Session-context : 0x00000000
Session-context ThreadId: 0x00000294

I have scanned the PC for viruses with an updated version of Norton
and defragmented the disc and sought for disk errors. No problems have been
found or reported.

Any suggestions for cause and treatment?

Regards

Sigurvin

Looks like you Citrix "client" software may be damaged. One possible
fix is to un-install the Citrix client and re-install it. However,
make sure that you "de-activate" / "shut off" the Nortan Anti-Virus
"scanning" during the uninstall and reinstall. Sometimes the Norton
Anti-virus system can "block" the writing of files to the hard drive,
especially the ones it deems to be "virus like," eventhough you are
expresively installing those.

are the second and tird DWORDS in the Data-sectionhough you are
expresively installing those.
I have tried re-install as suggested. For few minutes this seemed to work
but then the same thing happened again i.e. a "peep" and a complete shut
down of the system.
Maybe the second last error report give more clues. As I have a Norwegian
operative system on my PC the following is in translation from Norwegian.
This report states following:

LoadPerf
"String value for the name of the output (or performance) counter in the
register is in a wrong format. The uncorrect string is 3604, the uncorrect
index value is the first DWORD in the Data-section while the last valid
index values are the second and third DWORD in the Data-section".

It should be noted that this is a relativily new problem as I have used
Citrix successfully on this PC for 2 years.
I have also used the system reset function in Windows without success but
may not be able to go sufficiently far back in time.

Any more suggestion on the cause.
