Windows installer malfunction

Hi all,

since three weeks about, i'm having probs installing/uninst software wiith
Windows Xp home ed.
E.G. the Google earth installator loads the installshield and the progress
bar simply stops.
Or sometimes the install/uninstall is so slow.
Any help will be appreciated.

First, I would update the Windows Installer 3.1 package to the modified
version. The "Redistribution" link is found here:

I am having trouble with google earth as well. Did the suggeted fix work?
Did you back up your system before proceding? Are you using the google
program now? I am having a similar problem.

Is the trouble with installing software or with running software that is
already installed?
