windows explorer

Lately I have been getting a problem window popping up. It says windows
explorer hjas encountered a problem and needs to close. I am running a P4
with 1GB ram and windows xp media center edition 2005. This happens when I
open and close control panel, sometimes when windows update runs, pretty much
whenever windows explorer comes in to play. Any and all help would be
appreciated, this is driving me nuts.

First check the Event log to determine if a foreign module is causing the
error.

How do I view the error messages registered in Event Log?:
