When I double-click on Windows Explorer, I get this error -
Explorer.exe Application error - The instruction at "0x7c910bc3"
referenced memory at "0x77fb6960a". The memory could not be written.
This message measures about an eleven on the Geek-Richter scale. Do I
want the debugger to start? Of course I want the bugger to start!
Windows then has a minor fit and returns to "normal" (whatever that is)
shortly afterwards, albeit lacking printer, QuickTime & sound icons in
the system tray.
Have installed IE7 and a computer game called Gothic 3 which had a few
nasty crashes - once, the screen went blue (ala screen 'o death) but
gave no error message. Perhaps XP was so horrified at what Gothic 3
was trying to do, it didn't know what to say?
Have done virus check - no probs.
Was thinking of running XP CD and choosing "Repair", but my jaded
expectations of this achieving anything worthwhile are about the same
as trying to convince the Pope to become a satanist.
Other options could be uninstall IE7 & Gothic 3, although it would be a
shame to stop playing now as I've mastered the art of skewering a
goblin in the face at point blank range with a crossbow.
Any thoughts? Thanks!
Regards, dnw.
