Windows Explorer icons missing

Since about a week, the icons for all the folders are not
showing up. When I activate "Folders" (showing up on the
left hand side), no icons show up at all (like Network
Places, Recycle Bin, Desktop, etc). On the right hand
side, all the icons for folders etc show up fine. I'm not
aware of having done any drastic changes to the system. I
just did the Update for SP1, but that did not help.

I've tried all the settings in the Options Menu for
Folders, without any success. Any suggestions?
