I did read up on several of the articles, but none seems to solve my problem.
The icons for folders and share folders are displaying the white icon with a
window in the centre. Other folders with else selected icons are all
remaining the same. Initially the opening of folders were redirected to open
a search window, but was resolved after reading few of the articles.
Using the Tools >> Folder Options >> File Types >> Advance does not helps.
It was noted there that some other file types were allocated with the same
icon, but i'm not sure was those affected by this same problem or was it the
default setting, since the types were rather uncommon to me.
I did also checked out the situation in adminsitration (safe) mode, and the
icons were displaying properly. Thus, i would like to seek advice of any
means of resolving this problem, other than recreating another user account?
