Windows Explorer doesn't always refresh view

If I make changes to the content of some folders those changes aren't
displayed Windows Explorer until I manually refresh the view (Renaming files
for example - they revert to the old name when I hit enter and stay that way
until I refresh the view). It's not all folders though. I cant see this
fault mentioned in the knowledge base. Any ideas?

Hi

Your system might be slow. Try disabling unnecessary startup items from
MSCONFIG and then run SFC /SCANNOW from Start->Run

Also try running system restore if that doesnt helps.

Not that I've noticed and it never does the refresh no matter how long I
wait.

Yes I tried that recently with no effect.

The problem seems to occur down a path with a lot of content/complexity.
It's also a shared path but I don't know if that's likely to be an issue.
