New folders/renaming on network not showing until refresh

I have a user running Win XP Prof edition, he has full access to a network
area and frequently creates new folders and renames them, he also renames
files and deletes as necessary, pretty straight forward stuff, however, when
he does any of this the changes do not show immediately, the view reverts
back to what it was previously until he clicks on 'refresh', and yes this is
working but i would like to know why he has to refresh the screen to view
these changes if possible.......any ideas? Any changes made on his local
hard drive appear immediately.

Hi Ang

Quite a few people seem to have this problem. Is the user accessing this
network area using a UNC path? And is it perhaps mapped to a folder
inside a shared folder, for example like \\Server\Share\Folder?

If so, try \\Server\Share instead, or if it's possible in your situation
you might make the folder a mapped "drive" and give it a letter.

Hope this helps. Please let us know how you get on :)

Checked on the server and the folder was not shared out.

Shared this out and problem solved, thanks for your advice.
