Hi Folks - I have just recently noticed that Windows Explorer has begun
crashing out when I right-click in the Start Bar. I am getting the "Windows
Explorer has experienced an error and must shut down" message. In Event
Viewer, this is the message with regards to the occurence:
Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.3156, faulting module
mfc71u.dll, version 7.10.3077.0, fault address 0x0008dc0a.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Do you happen to have Visual Studio installed?

Hi Wolf -

I have the same mfc71u.dll version as you from 2003. The only current
version I am aware of is referenced in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927237 and it's a fix pack for people
running Visual Studio 2003.

I know it's not much of a consolation, but hopefully this will be
fixed when SP3 for XP is released in the very near future.
