Windows Explorer crashes in XP

Anytime I open up a folder then open up any kind of document in that folder
(word doc, excel, picture,etc). Windows Explorer will crash.

Here is the event error info.

Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module
PnEL.dll, version 2005.1.55.0, fault address 0x000470a4.


I would really appreciate all help. I've contacted MS and they say it is
happening because of how/what dell installed. I called Dell and they don't
know what is wrong

When you open any file, right click on the file, then choose "send to"
or "open with" , then choose MS Word, Excel, or Notepad,,,, according to
the file type. Maybe all your files are defaulted to use IE to be the
plateform.
