windows error message

When I log on to my computer, I keep getting the
following error message
Windows error--a duplicate name exists on the network

I cannot figure out how to get rid of the duplicate nor
can I figure what name is duplicated. I have windows XP
professional running on a toshiba notebook Pentium 4. I
just purchased the computer.
