When I turned on my machine this morning, there was a Windows Error message
saying something to the effect that a duplicate network name has been
detected. I hadn't made any changes to the computer, in fact, I wasn't even
on the computer yesterday. The other day, I did disconnect my other machine
due to the fact that I was getting furniture delivered and had to take it
out of that room. I reconnected it yesterday. Do you think this might have
anything to do with a duplicate network name?? How do i go about fixing
this??

Thanx,

Patty

Patty,

check the NetBIOS names. All computer, user, and workgroup names
must be unique, for example, a computer name cannot be equal to
any user name in the network.

You can try the NET USER command and NET HELP.
