Windows Eng "backslash"Broken with Japanese Keyboard Switching ena

Hi there,

I'm having a serious problem. I have a japanese client that I am doing
design work for. I have installed the Japanese keyboard so that I can
implement japanese copy into my designs.

Problem is, now that I have installed the Japanese keyboard I can no longer
type a proper english "backslash" in any keyboard setting. I now receive the
japanese equivelant. This wouldn't bother me except for the fact that it
completely ruins my ability to write any code that requires a "backslash" in
a web development environment.

I have made sure that I am in english when doing this, and have even gone so
far as to remove japanese support... but I am still stuck with the japanese
"backslash." My windows pathing (in explorer) also shows up with the
japanese equivelant of the english "backslash." This is with the japanese
keyboard functionality "removed" as well.

My computer has been rendered unusable. Please any help would be greatly
appreciated.

What do you mean by "in English"? There are so many settings that it is
important to be precise.

by doing what?

So you see the EN indicator on the taskbar at the time?

Is the non-Unicode program setting also set back to English?
