Switching from English to Japanese MUI problems with a \ Japanese

We are an English/Japanese company

Our setup:

Windows XP Pro SP2
Japanese MUI
Office 2003 SP2 with Japanese MUI SP2

If I switch a machine from Engilsh to Japanese and Back to English their is
a small issue..


The Backward slash shows up as a japanese font Ex. \

The Forward slash works fine /


I tried doing a search... But everytime I type the \ in the search engine
it switches it back to an English Backward Slash.

After making the post, I decided to check it out...

I see the Japanese character for the Back slash that I typed in was changed
by the forum when making the post...

BTW, we are also running IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr
