windows email with vista

I'm new to Vista...the emails with attachments (pics) come back with a
message that powerpoint can't read them...........and emails with animation
don't run!

Can anyone help?????

To me it's not clear what might be going on in your side :-(

1.) You speak if "pics". Which types of file do the attachments have
(which file extensions?

Are they PPT and/or PPS?

2.) You say that you receive an error message that the attachments could
not be "read".
I have never seen an error message with this expression.
What do the error messages say *EXACTLY*?

3.) Did you recently install IE8?
