windows don't let me shut down

HEY. i am having a small issue wid my pc. well at times, wen i go to 'shutdown' it doesnt. i can still move around on the mouse. it dont let me open any programs but the screen is like i havent asked it 2 do anything- basically da same.


i result in having to shut down from the power button which duz worry me

Windows Xp Media Edition 2005.

If you have clicked shut down, and the pc prepares for shutdown but doesnt turn off then hold down your power button on the pc.

hm dont know why it doesnt shut down... maybe leaving it for longer to turn itself off might work?
