xp shut down

i hav a domain environment ...recently i hav noticed tht my domain users
cannot shut down there p.c`s the shutdown option is just disappeard ...
there is only one option showing is tht of logoff.....
and wen i login the system wid the administrator password ...the shutdown
option reappers again.. i hav tried putting the domain user as a power user
too but tht didnt work as well .

Have you by any chance implemented a group policy as this is one of the many
things you can do with group policy? Without knowing a little bit more about
your setup I cannot guide you properly.

If you have implemented a group policy you need to access this and browse to
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Start Menu and Taskbar. The
setting you are looking for under here is "Remove and Prevent Access to the
Shut Down command". If this is set to enabled then theres your problem.
