Pedro Cunha

Hello,

I have my vista business running without problems, until now!
The windows defender executable is missing.
The windows defender is installed strangly on the program files(x86) but
only has dll files. the exe is missing.

The support information says that defender is builted in Vista.

How can I repair Windows Defender?

Thank you for your support.

Regards,
Pedro

Try this:

Go to an elevated command prompt--i.e. right click command prompt in
accessories in the start menu, and choose run as administrator.

type sfc /scannow.

If you have Vista installation media--have that in the drive.

See whether that takes care of it.

Excellent--thanks for the confirmation. I haven't needed this myself, so
haven't tried it first hand, but another user posted it here. With your
confirmation, this will be my standard remedy for abstruse Defender on Vista
issues.
