Are other security products installed--Windows Live OneCare, for example?

I have the AVG Free Edition 8.0 with the Antispyware and Email Scanner, and
the Security Center inform that not exist a antivirus installed.

And I cannot disable this feature because all features of the AVG are
started with same service.

Thanks.

OK - here's what I would try:

Sometimes when the Security Center is not recognizing installed Antivirus or
Antispyware, it is because of a problem with WMI.

We can test, and possibly repair WMI with the following command-line
operation.

Start, all programs, accessories.

Right-click "command prompt" and choose "run as administrator."

From this "elevated" command prompt (meaning that it is running as
administrator), type the following line, and hit enter:

winmgmt /salvagerepository

Observe and lets see what the result is. I'm not sure what happens if it
needs to rebuild the repository--whether you are prompted further, or
whether a reboot is needed to see a positive result.
