Windows Vista Defender Issue

I do not use Vista defender nor do I wish to. However, a vista defender
window keeps popping up on my screen saying I have virus threats and then
prompts me to purchase vista defender. How can I disable or uninstall this?
It is keeping me from viewing any webpages including my emails. Any
suggestions would be appreciated!

You machine is most likely infected by a rouge Anti-Malware program called
"Vista Defender Pro".

i am having the same problem it prompting to buy defender when it was
supposedly included with vista and i cant uninstall no other spy ware or anti
virus programs are finding these problems and the page it directs me to to
purchase defender wont even open up its been reported as a unsafe website
which doesn't make since b/c its a Microsoft page that wont open for support
of a Microsoft product this very frustrating and i wish some would help us
with this problem
