An unexpected problem occurred.

0x8050800c

What is it and how do I fix it?

I've upgraded from Microsoft Antispyware to Windows Defender.

A cursory glance at related entries on this list indicates there is, at
present, no solution or admission that such a problem exists. However, I can
confirm it does exist. Since the "issue" is with BETA software, one can
expect problems. My judgment is that Windows Defender is not ready for prime
time. Not yet, anyhow.

There is a known bug in Windows Defender that causes this. Unfortunately
there is no workaround.

This should be fixed in the next engine release, which should happen on
Monday or Tuesday.

Thanks

Hi,
I have twice downloaded WD. First, the update button did not worked,
uninstalled. Next, reinstalled and then the update button worked but a pop-up
ballon read
something about missing origin and the parameter 1x8007024c.

I agree with you windows Defender is not yet ready.
