Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1051.0
Engine Version: 1.1.1185.0
Signature Version: 1.13.1272.4

=======

When trying to scan I get Error 0x8050800c. An unexpected problem occured.
Install any available updates and try to start the program again.

When checking for updates either from inside the program or via Windows
Update I am told that no updates are available.

Found out later in the System Event Log that the scheduled scan took place.
I tried again a manual scan and this time it worked.

I encountered the same problem with a second machine. However on that
machine I cannot get the scan to work yet.

Windows 2000 Professional SP-4.

I am having the same problem. I am running Windows 2000 pro sp-4. Starters
i couldnt even install defender, untill a friend advised me up putting
gdiplus.dll into the system32 (which someone else advised me it could cause
conflicts) but it allowed me to finally install. And it took 7 tries to
update the DEF. Now i cant scan.. i get thesame error u mentioned earlier.
If you resolve this, it would be greatly appreciated...

PS... they really butchered a good thing..... where did beta 1 go :S
