why does home screen show under last scan 'Not available' when I have just
carried out a few hours earlier a Full Scan?
 
Hello David,
Go into "Add and Remove Programs" in the "Control Panel" and clicking the
"Change" button of the "Windows Defender" entry.

-OR-

Go into "Add and Remove Programs" in the "Control Panel" and clicking the
Support information and follow the prompts to reinstall.
