Time Display in Windows Defender Beta 2

The date & time display on my Windows Defender Beta 2 shows that my last scan
was in August 2007. The date & time on my computer display is correct. How do
I get Windows Defender to show correct date & time?

Interesting. This seems a little too far off to be a timezone issue...

When was the last time you did a scan? Is it correct to assume that, in
fact, this indication is not changing?

I'd repair Windows Defender--start, control panel, add or remove programs,
windows defender, click on "click here for support information" and choose
repair.

Thanks for your reply Bill. Several weeks ago, I noticed that the date & time
on my computer were wrong. I corrected this but is it possible that a scan
was done while the computer date & time were wrong? If this is the case, it
will probably correct itself after it passes the date & time it is now
showing on WD. It's not a big deal as I usually scan every day. I just
wondered if anyone else had the same problem.

Bill, I did as you suggested - repaired WD and then ran another scan. It
still says last scan August, 2007. Anyway, I'm not going to worry about it, I
was jus curious if anyone else had the same problem. Thanks for your input.

Others have reported that sometimes that indication on the home page is not
accurate--i.e. not kept up to date. Usually, the repair has corrected
this. If it is still out of synch after you close the Windows Defender UI
and re-open it, you might try an update:

start, control panel, add or remove programs, windows defender, change,
update.

(this is really just a stab in the dark--I've never been clear what the
difference, if any, between the update function and the repair function
might be--so since one didn't seem to do the job, I figure it might be worth
trying the other....) Something is definitely wrong--that information
should be kept current, and is, for most users.

Thanks for the info Jean. I'll try that next week. Just now I'm off to
Florida for a week so will not be thinking about computers, just sun & sand.

Got a reply from Jean Sanderson indicating that Beta 2 expired in December.
I'm off to Florida for a week of sunshine so I will check into both of these
when I get back. Thanks again.

Doing a new download and installing over what you have is one way of
repairing--have a good trip!
