Windows crashes typing double backslash

Hi all,
I have a problem with Windows XP Professional SP2. When I type double
backslash in "Run..." window or in Explorer's "Address Bar", the system
crashes and PC shuts down immediately.
I think the problem is a dll launched when I type "\\" to search host on
the network.
Can someone help me? Which is this dll? How can I avoid the crash?

Try clearing out your AutoComplete list for Run and Address Bar.
In order to do this, you must clear your History List.

I searched into registry how to clean History list for Run and Address Bar,
but I got no results.
Can you help me?
